FEPS and the Scottish Fabians are presenting joint the report: "A Voice for the Future: How Labour can shape the next 20 years of devolution" on 2nd March 2020 at 1PM CET
The report is the result of a major yearlong research project into the future of devolution in Scotland. We conclude that the survival of devolution relies on the Scottish Labour reasserting itself as a “pro-UK, pro-devolution and patriotic party”.
The publication draws on a major YouGov poll alongside focus groups conducted across Scotland during 2020 and contributors to the report include politicians, academics and prominent figures from Scottish public life.
The report is a call to action not only to Scottish Labour but to parties of the left across Europe as they struggle with ways to tackle populism and nationalism. The report makes some key recommendations for constitutional reform in Scotland and across the UK.
Speakers:
Martin McCluskey: Doctoral Researcher at the University of Edinburgh and a former Political Director of the Scottish Labour Party.
Ania Skryzpek: Doctor, FEPS Director for Research and Training
Nicola McEwen: Professor of Territorial Politics at the University of Edinburgh and Co-Director of the Centre on Constitutional Change.
Sarah Boyack: MSP for the Lothians and was a member of the first Scottish Cabinet.
Paul Kennedy: Professor of Politics, Languages & International Studies at the University of Bath
