The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), together with the German Trade Union Confederation, the Hans-Böckler-Stiftung, the Institute for the History and Future of Work (IGZA), FEPS and others, is organising the third annual Digital Capitalism Conference.
The world around us is changing rapidly. We work using mobile devices, trade on platforms and cultivate friendships on the internet. Soon our cars will drive themselves and our refrigerators will stock up independently. We are living digital capitalism.
But is the new economy really bringing the promised progress for everyone or only enormous power and profits for a few? Will digitalisation inevitably lead to more inequality, in regards to economic competition, on the labour market, in terms of income and wealth? How can we shape the digital future in such a way that everyone can participate in progress and benefit from the potential of the new technologies?
We will discuss these topics with a range of speakers, including Evgeny Morozov, Francesca Bria, Matt Stoller, Nick Srnicek, Elvan Korkmaz, Laszlo Andor and many, many, more.
Please find the programme here. The event will be live-streamed as well, please tune in here on Tuesday 29 October as of 18:00, and on Wednesday 30 October as of 09:00.
