[Making a success of EU regulation on hedge funds and private equities]
Brussels, 27 April '09
FEPS presented a detailed assessment of the latest version of the proposal for a Directive of the European Commission to regulate Hedge Funds and Private Equity. FEPS brought together a group of international experts in the field of law, economics and finance to analyse the proposal from the European Commission and to give recommendations for making the regulation on Hedge Funds and Private Equity a success. The current proposal is expected to be approved by the Commission on Wednesday 29 April.

The Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS), the new political foundation, held its Brussels launch yesterday evening during an event at the Bibliothèque Solvay in Brussels. The event took the form of a panel discussion among high profile guests on the topic of "Europe and the renewal of social democracy".
