Notice of vacancy: Communications Internship

The Foundation for European Progressive Studies is now recruiting for a Communications Internship.

The focus of the work will be in assisting in the development of the social media communication towards illustrating FEPS work in the European elections debate in 2014. It will also provide an opportunity to see the European elections up close from within the progressive family.

About FEPS:
FEPS is the progressive think tank at European level, with almost 50 member political Foundations and think tanks across Europe. FEPS embodies a new way of thinking on the social democratic, socialist and labour scene in Europe. It seeks to serve as a platform for ideas and aims to tackle the challenges that Europe faces today by putting fresh thinking at the core of its action.

The Foundation carries out regular projects with its members and holds special close working relationships with renowned European and international partners. FEPS is well recognised in European progressive political circles and has established a strong network, which plays a key role in the publications, research and analysis carried out.

The candidate:

  • Would have just graduated or be in the final stage of studies in Journalism or Communication

    or equivalent

  • Should possess experience with social media and website management

  • Will be assisting in the fortnightly newsletter and helping to manage the databases, mailing lists and website for this

  • Will be assisting the Communications adviser in the search for up-to-date, innovative and efficient communication tools

  • Will be helping to organise events and conferences on a regular basis

  • Needs to have excellent command of English which will be the principle working language. A good level of another official EU working language is highly desirable. Any other languages are always an additional asset

     

    The contract will start mid-January 2014 and end 28th June 2014.

    Remuneration will be discussed depending on experience and qualifications. As FEPS is registered in Belgium as an AISBL, the contract will be under Belgian law.
