Notice of vacancy: Events Organiser
The Foundation for European Progressive Studies is now recruiting for an Events Organiser.
FEPS is the progressive think tank at European level, with almost 50 member political Foundations and think tanks across Europe. FEPS embodies a new way of thinking on the social democratic, socialist and labour scene in Europe. It seeks to serve as a platform for ideas and aims to tackle the challenges that Europe faces today by putting fresh thinking at the core of its action.
The Foundation carries out regular projects with its members and holds special close working relationships with renowned European and international partners. FEPS is well recognised in European progressive political circles and has established a strong network, which plays a key role in the publications, research and analysis carried out.
This post is mainly to work on the larger events, for which FEPS does 1-2 a year, in Brussels or across Europe. Sometimes we also hold events outside of Europe. Often over several days on various topics with 60-70 speakers and up to 2000 participants. See our Renaissance for Europe a common progressive vision and Call to Europe events for more details.
- At least 1 year experience of working in Brussels or a similar domain
- Fluency in English and French necessary
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to work in a small team
- Capability to follow own responsibilities independently.
Tasks will include:
- Fully organising larger conferences such as Call to Europe
- Assisting in smaller activities of the Foundation
- Invitations, venues, hotels, flights, speakers, targeting audiences, assisting with the communication strategy.
The contract will be to start as soon as possible preferably from the 1st September.
It will be a full-time, temporary contract until the 31st December 2015, with the possibility for prolongation. Remuneration: Details to be discussed upon interview.
As FEPS is registered in Belgium as an AISBL, the contract will be under Belgian law.
