The seminar aims to follow up on the anniversary year of the Beijing Platform for Action and propose steps to make this a more inclusive process. After the opening, the first session will focus on the achievements and the analysis of the uneven results that this process has brought about. Then the following session will propose an overview about the experiences of public policies on gender equality, putting forward both positive and negative examples which can induce transformation. The final session will be organised around the relations between neoliberalism, socialism and feminism and will put forward proposals in overcoming the systemic challenges feminists are faced with currently.
The discussion will bring together representatives of progressive political parties, civil society and academia in order to discuss these challenges from different perspectives.
